Welcome to our March newsletter
A year ago this week, countries across the globe started to implement lockdowns as the enormity of the pandemic became clear. There then followed a period of supply chain turmoil, with shipping containers stranded at ports and problems delivering vital supplies. At the time, all talk of producing a vaccine seemed theoretical as it would likely take years to research, develop and manufacture.
Roll forward a year and there are at least half a dozen tested and approved vaccines being used by governments across the world, and all of these vaccines need to be safely transported, as well as other vital equipment needed to support their administration (vials, syringes, PPE and much more).
The role of the shipping container in global vaccine logistics is the central theme in our next online seminar and networking event on April 15. Containing COVID-19: Containerisation’s Role in Global Vaccine Logistics will bring together private and public stakeholders from across the global shipping, cold chain and healthcare worlds to discuss the challenges and opportunities of vaccine logistics.
With speakers confirmed from PSA International, the Federal Maritime Commission, the World Economic Forum, HFW, the Republic of Cyprus, A.P. Moller-Maersk, International Chamber of Shipping, DHL Global Forwarding, ORBCOMM and the TT Club, this is the must-attend event for container logistics, cold chain and healthcare professionals. Booking your place is quick and easy here. We look forward to seeing you on April 15.
Brexit continues to impact the perishables market, with huge losses predicted for both importers and exporters as new regulations, paperwork and bureacracy at ports begin to bite, not to mention perishables rotting in containers as they aren’t transported across the channel in good time.
