Douglas Owen was appointed Secretary General of BIC in October 2016. He has over 25 years experience in the maritime transportation industry, including over 10 years developing and commercializing innovative software solutions that helped many of the world’s largest carriers and container lessors to more efficiently manage their container fleets. Prior to joining BIC, he served as Vice President and GM, EMEA for International Asset Systems (now Blume Global). He is the current Chairman of ISO Technical Committee 104, Sub-committee 4 (Identification and Communication – Freight containers).
