David Roff is passionate about digitalization in the transport and logistics industry, he has worked on projects across all modes of transport, removing paper documents from the process in favour of clearly defined data flows to share information in an efficient way.
David has supported use of international standards through his role as co-ordinator of the transport and logistics domain within UN/CEFACT and is a strong advocate for accessible code lists and open standards.
A key project working with the BIC was to support availability for machine-to-machine communication and adoption of the BIC Facility Codes, a 9 character identifier for container depots for use within the international supply chain, this work now extends further to standardise common geofences for those facilities and drive further adoption of the codes lists and smart devices providing value to the supply chain.
