We’re so pleased to announce the launch of our new Cool Logistics Podcast series – your chance to catch up on keynote sessions and speaker panels from our recent online events – head over to our Podcast page and listen directly to sessions from both Cool Logistics Global 2020 and Containing COVID-19: Containerisation’s Role in Global Vaccine Logistics.
This month, news headlines are dominated by reefer containers.
Firstly, reefer container supply shortages: an existing shortage of containers further impacted by the recent Suez Canal blockage and changes to trade agreements has left many perishable exporters in a tight situation.
Secondly, with such growing demand for reefer containers to keep the global perishable supply chain moving, carriers are adding significant numbers of new reefers to their fleets. And in addition, reefers are once more on the move by rail to Asia, reconnecting the European cold chain industry with China after refrigerated transport was suspended in early 2021.
As we prepare for our next event, Cool Logistics Middle East, September 22 2021, we’ve been reading about food security concerns for this region that is so dependent upon food imports. We’re busy taking registrations for this event so please register today to ensure you can join us using this link here.
