Constellation Cold Logistics has boosted capacity at its Nijkerk, Netherlands, cold storage facility with an 18,500-pallet expansion. Opened this January, the extension takes frozen storage capacity at the site to over 65,000 pallet spaces, along with facilities for blast freezing, repacking and other value-added services.
The extension includes a rooftop solar array to reduce carbon emissions and reach net zero. This adds to investment in 6 MW of generating capacity made across the company’s network in 2023.
“Our Nijkerk expansion is yet another example demonstrating our ambition to deliver high-quality cold chain infrastructure throughout Europe and grow with our customers,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Constellation’s CEO.
The company now has a presence across seven European countries with around 650,000 pallet positions for temperature-controlled cargoes.
