Alan Robertson joins the Cool Logistics team
The Cool Logistics team is delighted to welcome Alan Robertson of Webster Robertson Ltd, to the team. Alan’s extensive experience of the container maritime industry, together with reefer business planning and much more will help us shape strategies, plan and build our content programme, foster new industry partnerships and deliver world-class events.
 
Alan is Director and owner of Webster Robertson Ltd, which specialises in consultancy and special services for the container sector of the maritime industry. Alan was previously at CP Ships and P&O Nedlloyd Group. More recently, Alan was Managing Director of Cambridge Refrigeration Technology. A seasoned speaker and moderator at industry events, Alan is well known to the Cool community who we are sure will join us in congratulating him. Welcome to the team, Alan!

Port keen to promote the connection of the Port of Valencia with the whole of northern Morocco

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is studying the expansion of its connection routes with northern Morocco.

The port authority recently held meetings with Moroccan shippers and logistics operators on the side lines of the IX Spanish-Moroccan Business Meeting of the Maritime, Transport and Logistics Sector in Tangier.

According to a recent statement, the parties are exploring opportunities to promote maritime traffic between PAV and the African nation – looking in particular at an expansion strategy for Ro-Ro and reefer traffic.

The order of 2,200 Daikin ZeSTIA reefer machinery units includes 10 that are fitted with its CA (controlled atmosphere) technology.  This is the first order for reefer machinery that Daikin has booked from Fresh Del Monte.

New collaboration to create cold chain centre in Rwanda to advance African cold chain

The African Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cooling and Cold-chain (ACES) is working with Carrier, a major global cold-chain provider, to advance cooling development and training in Africa.

Carrier will collaborate in the development of the ACES cold-chain centre in Kigali, Rwanda – providing capacity building for farmers and refrigeration technicians, skills development for students and supply chain professionals, and demonstration of best-in-class sustainable cooling technology.

The University of Birmingham plays a key role in ACES.
