2022 was a difficult year for Ecuador’s banana export industry. Ecuador, the world leader in banana exports, had an estimated loss of over $258 million, and -6,57% decrease in exports from January to December 2022. This large drop is mainly due to the Russian war in Ukraine, internal strikes and the dollar appreciation against the Euro
