We spoke to Rachael White, Cool Logistics’ Founder and CEO about Cool Logistics Global 2022, taking place 20-22 September, hosted by the Port of Barcelona.
“Our conference agenda for the 14th Cool Logistics Global is well and truly bursting at the seams with quality speakers who are ready to share their expertise. Together, we will tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the global cold supply chain”.
As world trade in perishables faces some of the most challenging conditions ever, reefer shippers and cargo owners are coming to Cool Logistics Global to share their experiences and explore solutions from production to consumption.
Reefer shipping and other parts of the cold chain have been under pressure for some time now and supply chain disruption is predicted to remain a feature well into 2023.
In its latest assessment, industry analyst Drewry – speaking at the conference in September – warns that “the reefer supply chain is at a precarious moment with extremely high input costs for materials such as fertilizer, packaging and energy, to name just a few. Freight rates remain unsustainably high and many BCOs, particularly those moving low value products, are shipping less as they are priced out of the market.”
“Cool Logistics Global is the leading forum for all stakeholders across the cold supply chain to come together and learn, understand and share” says Rachael. “We have successfully built a conference programme that will speak to every section of our industry, from production to consumption”.
“There will also be a lot of time for fun! Our networking events -from a port tour to an icebreaker event, the official port reception with live music through to wine and cheese tasting will give our delegates time to unwind and relax in beautiful surroundings in Barcelona”.
On a final note Rachael adds “we are so looking forward to seeing our ‘cool’ community once more!”.
