War in Ukraine is adding more pressure to an already-under-pressure European pork market. Feed prices are increasing significantly, so farm margins are squeezed. Many farms won’t break even this season at expected prices. Consumer behaviour is changing as inflation hits the Eurozone so shoppers are choosing alternatives such as chicken as pork prices remain high.
