
Hong Kong handled around 900,000 teu of reefer containers in 2020 and is the largest fresh fruit trading hub in South China, having achieved growth in durian and cherry shupments.
This new initiative will help provide greater visibility of container conditions, improving the port’s operational efficiency and increasing its global competitiveness.
Each year fresh produce worth US$3billion arrives at the port, of which 60% is onward-shipped to China.
