LONDON, 30.10.2018 – The 10th Cool Logistics Global Conference was held in Antwerp, Belgium on 2-4 October 2018. Mr. Jiang Wenquan, CEO of Hong Kong Guangdong Exhibition Group and China International Cross-border E-commerce Industry Alliance; Alfred Cheung, Chief Representative of Overseas Development; and Deputy General Manager Ms. Gu Weiwen were invited by Cool Logistics Resources Ltd, organisers of Cool Logistics, to attend.
The theme of the October event was “Pushing the boundary of cold chain logistics”, mainly focusing on the different links in the supply chain of fresh goods, an overview of the development of the global cold chain in the past ten years, future development prospects and influencing factors. There was also analysis of hot topics such as the development of reverse logistics and the waste supply chain. The summit attracted the participation of well-known business leaders from more than 40 different countries and the atmosphere was warm.
At the scene, Mr Jiang gave a speech as a representative of the Chinese side and introduced the current situation in Chinese cold chain logistics. It was mentioned that with favourable factors such as increased domestic consumption, the rapid deployment and access to the electricity infrastructure, and the strong support of national policies, China’s cold chain logistics is entering a stage of rapid growth. In 2018, China’s cold chain logistics and storage market will exceed expectations. According to Mr Jiang the coldchain market has good prospects for further development.
In order to promote the healthy and rapid development of domestic cold chain logistics an alliance has been formed between CEO Jiang and Alex von Stempel, Managing Director of Cool Logistics Resources Ltd. The parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the event which stipulates that Cool Logistics Resources Ltd (CLR) and the China International Cross-border E-commerce Industry Alliance have decided to jointly hold the 2019 World Cold Chain Logistics (Asia) Summit in Guangzhou on July 24-26, 2019, as an integral part of the 4th ICEE International Exhibition.
The ICEE Exhibition is South China’s leading cross-border e-commerce exhibition attracting companies such as the global bell weathers in the e-commerce business including J.D.Com, E bay, Amazon as well as many Japanese companies.
CLR has established itself as a leader in the global cold chain market with a strong followership in the global container shipping, logistics and handling community as well as the airfreight sector. Companies such as Maersk Line, Hapag Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, Seacube, Orbcomm, Global Tracker, Carrier Transicold, Daikin and Thermo King have supported Cool Logistics events for well over a decade.
The decision to team up with ICEE is borne out of the mutual conviction that global food e-commerce will revolutionize existing business practices in the cold chain and open up new opportunities for the long distance transportation logistics sector.
The 2019 World Cold Chain Logistics Summit will create a valuable international exchange and cooperation platform between the different parties interested in contributing to the development of the industry. World-renowned experts and leaders of the cold chain business are invited to the special event next year to participate, focus on the development of cold chain logistics, and build an international exchange and cooperation platform to contribute to the development of the industry.
