Paul Gallie has 36 years experience in the shipping and port industry. Following sea‐service up to the rank of Master, Paul moved ashore and has focused on port operations, refrigerated transport, project start‐up, business development and investments, in Latin America and Asia. During that time he has held positions within the maritime industry as Cargo Superintendent, Stowage & Scheduling Manager, Business Development Manager for the Andean Region, Port General Manager, Country Manager for Colombia and Ecuador and Director of Central America.
In November 2009, Paul joined APM Terminals as Director of Business Development for the Americas based in Panama tasked with developing new business opportunities in the region. In April 2011 Paul was promoted to Managing Director of APMT’s new Moin Container Terminal project in Costa Rica. In August 2014 he also became responsible for APMT’s activities throughout Central America. In 2015 Paul relocated to Singapore to take up a key role as Director of Port Investments for Asia. He is currently engaged in further executive training at the National University of Singapore School of Business.
Paul is a Member of the Nautical Institute, a Member of the Royal Institute of Navigation, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He was a founder member of the British-Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member of the American-Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce and sat on the Executive Committee of the LatinPorts organisation. He has a Diploma in Nautical Science and gained his Masters at Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. He is a regular and active participant in industry conferences
in Asia and The Americas.
